PICK THE CALL
What is the whole purpose of life? In a hero worship age, I believe life is all about finding your niche,fitting in swiftly and making a difference.How often we go through life living on the complete basis of circumstances whilst few , very few enjoy the privilege of working with their in-built skills and abilities.
Each and every homo sapien has been blessed with the gift of talent , a gift upon which anyone who is attentive enough to hear when it comes calling and effective enough to utilize will build their own empire of life regardless of what castles you fill it up with.
History is no short of examples of people who have been able to build their empire with castles of fame , wealth , idol ism whilst answering to their all and doing what they love.
STEVE JOBS , BILL GATES , ALIKO DANGOTE , LEONARDO DA VINCI , TONY ELUMELU , etc are all people who have built empires doing what they love.
The insensitivity with which we realte to our other self we do not see in the mirrow should be a source of worry and a crave for solution.
Nature in its very fine way of thought endows/ blesses us with behavioral traits which swiftly complements very well our in-built gifts.
The world is also no stranger to story of persons who had their faculty of reason and imagination destroyed ,discouraged initiative , uncertainty of purpose , wiped out enthusiasm and making the case of self-control an impossibility.
However , It i s important everyone knows and accepts just knowing your gifts isn't enough building material towards construction of your empire;if you are ever to build a mighty empire , a lot will depend on your ability to get your choices right.Deliberate efforts are the equivalence of choices.
Designing or creating your dream life is a very essential part of your life ,this is a very rare thought process with humans because we mostly accept whatever compensation life may offer without truly and fiercely fighting for what we truly want.Designing your dream life adds a certain level of intention and urgency to how we live on a daily.
Again,Most are unable to pick up their various call of gifts , talents because we mostly are distracted by taking on battles we weren't ready for and as well as living an emotional life rather than intentional.
Living intentionally demands awareness to a requirement of constant assessment of your skills and aligned time application as you continue in life .Using a soccer analogy , you can't be a good coach when you use the same set of cultural paradigm you had as a player , as a coach you will need to make tough calls i.e; sending away players,now making such calls requires keeping a respectable distance from the players and that's a skill you have to learn as a coach.
Now Re-aligned time application for a coach means watching more matches involving your opponents ,doing more studies and analysis on your players but this are processes you would've considered irrelevant as a player.
I've been around long enough to realize that in life,people tend to follow those they believe are very knowledgeable in what they do,it's what humans do,for instance; people who are knowledgeable about medicine command attention and silence when they start talking about medicine and it follows that way in every area of life ,now that's why in life ,it's important you become competent and distinguished because you can't be a leader in a vacuum.
Going on,if you are to ever hear your call ringing , a lot will depend on the fire you have in your belly(PASSION).
Steve Jobs once said "I became successful because i loved what i did" and there is truth to that statement because one can only build a very fine empire in life when you combine your passion with your talent.I should like to tell you talent without passion creates dissatisfaction whilst passion without talent results in mediocrity and to some extent frustration.
You may be gifted but if you lack a sense of mission with your gift ,then you can be sure of not going far in life.Now your sense of calling and what you do with it should be the input you are giving the world.
And,you must have the courage to follow to what direction your call points to,it is an inescapable phenomenon to have criticism thrown at you but how mighty your empire will be lies in your ability to stamp your foot upon the neck of critics. Trust me ,following the direction of your call won't make the path a very fine one because you will surely have a stone or bricks been thrown at you but that will also introduce you to the good old guy called Experience who will take you by the hand and teach you vigilance along the way so you become alert to any stone-thrower.
Now remember all calls are necessary and should meet a need ,that's why a sick patient needs a doctor and a student needs a teacher.
Answer your call and build your empire or you will end up casting yourself upon the broad sea of circumstance where you will be tossed hither and yon like a chip on the waves of the ocean.
